Phlebotomy Training

Students will learn how to draw blood for various of testing.  They learn Anatomy & Physiology understanding veins, circulatory system, and blood components. Hands-on Training practicing blood draws on mannequins and real patients under supervision.

Proper blood collection techniques, order of draw, venipuncture, capillary  puncture, and proper handling of samples. Labeling,  transporting, and storing blood samples correctly. Learning terms related to phlebotomy and lab testing.

Safety and Infection Control, preventing contamination,  proper disposal of needles, and following OSHA guidelines. 

Patient care, communicating. obtaining consent, and maintaining professionalism.
